Door Trim Kits – Width x Height Explained
Understanding Width x Height Options
For this product, the Width x Height field refers to the total opening you plan to frame—not just the door itself, but any additional side features. For example, if your entryway includes narrow vertical windows beside the door, be sure to include those in your measurement.
Available Sizes:
- 30″ W x 80″ H
- 32″ W x 80″ H
- 36″ W x 80″ H
- 60″ W x 80″ H
- 64″ W x 80″ H
- 72″ W x 80″ H
These dimensions cover the most common door openings in the United States. If your entry doesn’t match one of these options, contact our help line. We’ll build a custom kit to fit your exact opening. You won’t pay any hidden customization fees, just the standard price for the size and material you order.
How Width is Calculated:
The listed Width accounts for both the door and the pilasters you select. For example, if you choose 5″ wide pilasters for a 30″ wide door, your crosshead will measure 40″ wide (30″ door + 5″ pilaster on each side).
Standard Height
All pilasters are 90″ tall, including a 12″ plinth block at the base.
- The plinth block can be trimmed by up to 11″ to achieve the perfect fit.
- Pilasters should be cut to match the exact height of your door using common household tools.
- This allows each kit to fit any door between 80″ and 90″ tall. We highlight 80″ because it is the most common standard door height in the United States.
